Argumentative Essay: Gun Control is Not the Answer :: Argumentative Persuasive Essays
Gun control has been a controversial issue for years. A vast              majority of citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced     it would quickly reduce the threat of crime. Many innocent people feel    they have the right to bear arms for protection, or even for the          pleasure of hunting. These people are penalized for protecting their      lives, or even for enjoying a common, innocent sport. To enforce gun      control throughout the nation, means violating a persons                  Constitutional rights. Although some people feel that the issue of gun    control will limit crime, the issue should not exist due to the fact      that guns are necessary for self defense against crime, and by            enforcing gun control is violating a citizens second amendment right      to bear arms.                                                              Guns are evil to some, because of the violence that they                  create. People express guns as weapons of homicide. They insist that,     the more guns with which our society equips itself, the greater the       likelihood for accidents or violent acts involving fire arms to occur.    It is a proven fact that handguns have been the murder weapon of          choice. Guns are involved in half of all homicide cases. People           believe that society has relied on weapons that create harm and           criminals. Therefore, these weapons should be outlawed.                    However, law abiding citizens have the right to protect                   themselves against danger. Due to the ownership of guns, burglaries       have reduced considerably. A gun is a tool, guns don't kill people.       People kill people. The matter depends on who is using the gun, and       what situation it is involved in. Purchasing a handgun legally is a       complex procedure. The consumer must go through a two month waiting       period. These procedure guarantee the innocence and reliability of a      gun owner.                                                                 The second amendment states the citizens right to own and bear            firearms. Freedom to poses arms is a guaranteed citizen right. If the     constitutional rights of a citizen are violated, it can be a complex      issue. In the case of US vs Miller during the year of 1939, The           supreme court voted against individual rights to bear arms. Nothing       can destroy a government more quickly than its failure to observe its    Â

Ghent Altarpiece Reflection
The Ghent Altarpiece is considered by scholars to be one of the most ambitious and complex paintings of the 15th century. Its detailed panels convey its sacred matter with such realism that art historians mark It as the start of the Northern Renaissance. The altarpiece, also known as the â€Å"Adoration of the Lamb†, was begun in 1425 The exterior frame of the altarpiece Indicates It was started by painter Hubert van Eyck who died before he could finish, and then completed by his brother Jan van Eyck In 1432 The painting was then acquired by a wealthy patron Jodocus VIJd for placementIn the church of saint John, Ghent, Belgium. The work Is an excellent piece of study because the painting Is so complex. The panels display a variety of detailed scenes, but the center of the altarpiece Is Jesus Christ, the Virgin, and saint John the Baptist. And below them, a host of saints assembled around the lamb. The masterpiece consists of 24 panels of varying size and shapes aligned two rcv . . s so that the 12 panels are vlslble opened and then 12 panels are vlslble when the panel Is closed. Jan van Eyck used oil paint to create tiny vibrations ot light within the saturated colors most ot which are symbolic significant. The Importance Of Diversity And Multicultural Aspects
SBRR: Cultural Competence Prior to taking this course I was unaware of all the different ways diversity and multicultural aspects could be used in the classroom. My eyes have been opened so many different ways in incorporate the community and many differences throughout it. I feel that through my lesson plans you are able to see the growth from the first assignment all the way through the last. Throughout this paper we will discuss how I used cultures within the community as a vehicle for learning, how I was able to bridge student’s learning in the community by acknowledging their cultures, how I was able to include parents, and family members within my activities, how the community’s cultures were acknowledged in my activities, my knowledge about the diversities within the school system and community, and how I will educate myself on developing a culturally competent perspective and instruction. When I first began this class I felt like I was struggling with repres enting the different cultures within the community. However, after completing a few assignments and working through the assigned readings, I feel as if I did a good job representing the cultures. My assignments allowed my lessons to become and encompass the tools needed to be a learning vehicle for students in my class.
